German deep (and beautifully unusual) house act Ame will be in London at the end of the month for an exclusive one-night affair organised by legendary promoters secretsundaze. Well, one half at least. Kristian Beyer will fly the Ame flag on July 26th at Shoreditch’s Village Underground club alongside seriously up-and-coming local DJ Wbeeza, a 23-year-old house music revelation taken under the wing of Third Ear owner Guy McCreery after hearing some of the newcomer’s material.
Alongside partner-in-crime Frank Wiedemann, Beyer has taken the Ame name to massive heights in recent years – responsible for a slew of quality underground four-to-the-floor hits including Rej and Kuma, cult remixes for the likes of Wahoo and Jazzanova, and 2004’s eponymous debut album on Sonar Kollectiv, which snared glowing reviews from punters and DJs alike.
It’s a busy time for the secretsundaze people – they’re also hosting a secret Lovebox Weekender aftershow bash this Saturday, London, SE1, 10pm; at the festival itself (Victoria Park, London, E3) they’ll have their usual arena and special guests, this year, including Chicago legend DJ Sneak, Playhouse’s Losoul and Oslo Records freshman Johnny D.
