Ibiza 2013 - new home for Defected In The House

published on 12.04.13

After 10 years of Defected In The House parties in Ibiza, it has now been confirmed that there will be a brand new venue hosting our Saturdays parties on the island; Bomba Ibiza.

The line-up features more than 30 artists including Duke Dumont, Disclosure, Dennis Ferrer, Noir, Nick Curly, Tensnake, FCL, MK, Skream, Simon Dunmore, Flashmob, Derrick Carter, Copyright and more. The diverse programme brings together the new school house establishment with pioneers and founders of the genre and reflects our  commitment to keeping things fresh for the 2013 season.

Bomba Ibiza is a new hi-spec club being opened in Ibiza Town by Giuseppe Cipriani, adding the venue to a collection of world renowned Cipriani destinations including the original Harry’s Bar in Venice. DJs and clubbers alike shall enjoy a world first as the club will feature a custom-built sound system designed by Pioneer, dance music’s most innovative professional audio company.

Cipriani has teamed up with former Pacha Brand Director Danny Whittle in what has been described as a “bullet-proof partnership.”

"I needed to do something new that keeps the island moving forward” Whittle says of the new venture. “If we stand still we die, simple as that really. I think we can do good things at Bomba; I have some great ideas and we all want to provide people with the best music on the island."

Says Simon Dunmore of the change of venues; “Continuing a tried and trusted formula would have been the easiest option but our achievements last summer gave us a great platform to look at the new opportunities.

“To keep moving our business forward we have instinctively learnt to make our moves at crucial moments” he continues. “We enjoyed eight incredible seasons at arguably the world’s most iconic discotheque but we are pushing ourselves on all levels and it feels like the right time to move on.

“We have spent the last two years repositioning Defected and our new residencies in Ibiza will push the perception of the ‘new’ Defected even further. We believe that it is a bold move but one that will keep our presence in Ibiza fresh and give us longevity.”

The full line-up for Bomba will be announced over the coming weeks.
