JUNE SINGLES ROUND-UP

published on 15.06.18

With the summer season in full swing and the Defected activity at an all-time high with the weekly Ibiza parties, festivals and tours happening around the world, we thought we’d take a moment to appreciate what’s always at the heart of what we do – the music. Take a look at the upcoming tracks you have to look forward to and familiarise yourself with our current favourite records that are fast becoming our summer soundtrack…

CAMELPHAT & ALI LOVE – DOPAMINE MACHINE [DEFECTED] FORTHCOMING

The follow-up to ‘Cola’, CamelPhat first played their forthcoming new record when they were live streamed from the top of Tower Bridge in May.

SHAKEDOWN – AT NIGHT (REMIXES) [DEFECTED] FORTHCOMING 6TH JULY

If you’ve seen Purple Disco Machine play out over the last couple of months you will have heard his funk-infused version of this bona fide classic which is available now. And the much-hyped remixes from Tiger Woods and Peggy Gou will finally be available to cop on 6thJuly. We’re just going to leave this here…

FINN – SOMETIMES THE GOING GETS A LITTLE TOUGH [DEFECTED]

This unique and heartfelt record is something a bit different for Defected but is proving pretty addictive. Don’t sleep on this one.

MELÉ & SHOVELL – PASILDA [DEFECTED] FORTHCOMING

Ahead of the forthcoming Defected presents Melé In The House compilation, Melé and drum warrior Shovell come in hot with this version of ‘Pasilda’, an undeniable Latin house scorcher. Safe to say it went off in Studio 338…

No rest for @mele 🌪🌪🌪 . #Defected338

SOPHIE LLOYD FEATURING DAMES BROWN – CALLING OUT [CLASSIC MUSIC COMPANY]

‘Calling Out’ has been a consistent in all the most discerning DJ’s sets for a few months now. For those looking for something chunkier, the glorious gospel house tune was remixed by Floorplan and continues to do the business representing Classic Music Company.

HARRY ROMERO – REVOLUTION [DFTD]

Harry Romero’s ‘Revolution’ might sound familiar because it’s been used as a secret weapon for DJ’s such as Kenny Dope, Derrick Carter, Kerri Chandler, Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Honey Dijon and more. Finally getting the attention it deserves with a timely full release, ‘Revolution’ is a straight up modern Jersey jam.

SOULSEARCHER – CAN’T GET ENOUGH! (ILLYUS & BARRIENTOS EXTENDED CLUB REFIX) [SOULFURIC DEEP]

Surely one of the most defining house records ever made and an out-and-out classic, this Soulfuric record got a welcome update for 2018 from Illyus & Barrientos in May and has been making its way into our residents’ festival sets ever since.

WANKELMUT FEATURING ANNA LEYNE – SHOW YOU [DEFECTED] FORTHCOMING

The ‘My Head Is A Jungle’ hitmaker presents his debut on Defected, ‘Show You’, a purpose-built club anthem. Keep an eye out for this one and prepare for this certified party-starter from Wankelmut to become your soundtrack to the summer.

THE SMEN – WHO WE ARE [DEFECTED]

The Smen are back with a club killer, the follow-up to ‘Back’ all the way back in 1997. It’s a banger but what else would expect from a collaboration between Roger Sanchez, DJ Sneak and Junior Sanchez…?
