‘Bah Humbug!’ is a pop up store at the Austin Gallery on Bethnal Green Road. This Christmas emporium will showcase graphic design, music, fashion and film from the acid house era and comes in the form of available to buy memorabilia which can be purchased at an affordable price, to take away for the first time ever.
The shop will offer a range of memorabilia including the much sought after design prints - from large A2 framed prints to simple postcard sized- stocking fillers, as well as t shirts with design prints and dvds of music videos and short films.
It's is a perfect opportunity to get a slice of the acid house action to take home and keep – visual memorabilia which makes the perfect Christmas gift or stocking filler for anyone who has either just dipped their toe in, or fully submerged themselves into the club culture that has shaped a generation for the past 20 years.
A DVD player has also been set up in store, so that shoppers can order a beer or a coffee, sit back on a sofa and watch one of the music videos or short films of their choice, while enjoying the art around them too.
The shopping day on Sun 6th Dec will finish with a film viewing of the classic acid house movie 'A Short Film about Chilling’ directed by Angus Cameron at 7pm in party pub The Star of Bethnal Green, a short walk down the road from the Austin Gallery. The artists who are featured at the exhibition will also be available at The Star Pub for interview.
