Ace Belgian duo Aeroplane have gone their separate ways.

Vito De Luca and Stephen Fasano announced the split through their Facebook page, adding that De Luca will now be using the name for his own productions.

Strangely, the duo were poised to release their debut album We Can't Fly through the UK label Wall Of Sound in September.

'Stephen and I have been working together for more than 7 years now,' said De Luca. '7 years of good and bad times. 7 years of creating different projects, exploring different directions. Today, we are more excited and passionate than ever about creating new music.

'Except that since the last months Stephen's vision and mine were going different ways. That is the reason why we decided that one of us should leave Aeroplane. Not to destroy it, but to make it last.'

The pair came to prominence after remixing tracks for Grace Jones and Friendly Fires, along with singles on Belgium's superb Eskimo label.
