Frenchman Sebastien Devaud has confirmed that he is leaving InFine Music, the imprint he co-founded five years ago. Devaud, who as Agoria fuses techno to all manner of electronica influences, has cited other work commitments as the reason behind his decision.
Agoria has several side projects currently on the go, including work with several pop artists and a new film soundtrack album. He is concerned that with the increased workload he will be unable to devote enough time to InFine A&R and artist development.
“Now there are so many artists and it [InFine] is such a big label” Devaud comments. “A lot of the time I’m doing nothing for the music, just meetings and working on the business side of things. I think InFine doesn’t need me anymore, the label will grow up and it will be fine without me. There are a lot of albums coming out next year. I think it will go well.”
InFine, which Devaud set up alongside Yannick Matray and Alexandre Cazac, has a busy 2012 schedule with new and varied material expected from Rone, Danton, Spitzer and Eeprom.
