Marc Evans is the Baltimore soul sensation who teamed up with DJ Spen and The Muthafunkaz to bring us their critically acclaimed album; The Way You Love Me. Now re-issued with brand new tracks, new arrangements and new remixes.
Most of you will remember that the original album release made a big impact on the Soul and Dance scenes alike. If Marc Evans landed on the scene in the 80’s he would have been in there with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes or the O’Jays, with a voice that encapsulates the Philly Soul vibe.
As it turns out Marc Evans is a contemporary voice from Baltimore. He is full of soulful energy and inspired lyrics. He has the experience, the talent and voice to carry him all the way. His songs are upbeat, authentic, danceable and beautifully delivered with a clear gospel influence.
He originally brought us his album back in 2008, named after his 2005 seminal club hit 'The Way You Love Me'. The album has just received a rework and is to be re-issued with a bonus deluxe disc containing exclusive new material and remixes of the original album tracks.
Along with the funk and house blend, this album possesses a cathartic, uplifting quality that is rooted in the soul.
The album comes with an variety of completely new tracks which include the a new arrangement of ‘The Way You Love Me’ feat Sheila Ford (MuthaFunkin’ Soul Mix), a new down tempo version inspired by the love that Marc album received from the soul community.
Another new inclusion is ‘She Is’ a song inspired by Marc and Spen’s daughters, ‘Come Bother Me’ which has a definitive contemporary R & B vibe, and the feel good house track ‘Downtime’ that encourages you to forget the stresses of the day and dance.
And look out for the new remixes by DJ Meme, giving a big disco spin to ‘This Thing Called Love’ and Serenity (Mark Grant's Blackstone Remix) with a bumpy Chicago workout.
