Ahead of the release of Bargrooves Après Skie 2.0, compiler and mixer Andy Daniell talks us through some of his personal favourites includes on the compilation.

George Fitzgerald - Child
George Fitzgerald is someone who I think it going to blow up in 2013, but it is arguably this record that made him break out. Riding high on the current wave of ‘nostalgic’ house records, it’s a superb production with a great riff and of course those infectious, haunting vocals. Awesome record.

Pablo Fierro – I Want It
Pablo Fierro is a very exciting new artist that we are working with here at Defected.  He’s super-talented across the board; he produced, wrote and sung this record which gives you an idea of the range of his talents. I’m sure this awesome record will prove to be just the beginning for him.

Larse – For Real
Larse is one of my favourite producers around at the moment He has something special; every track he touches has a real soul to it and stands head & shoulders above a lot of wannabes.

Yousef – Beg (Hot Since 82 Remix)
This record is so huge I couldn’t not include it. Hot Since 82 flipped Yousef’s awesome original on his head and just works those vocals and underpins it with a massive bassline. This track just oozes funk and sat in the Beatport Top 10 for well over a month.

Nick Curly – Underground
Most people know this track because of Dennis Ferrer’s undoubtedly huge remix but I wanted to represent the original mix as it shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s a very subtle track, but that hook will get under your skin and stay there for days.

Lovebirds – The Rain (Steve Bug Remix)
I’m a huge fan of both Lovebirds and Steve Bug; both have been some of the most consistent producers around for years. This track is a stunning piece of music that feels incredibly warm, the perfect feeling after a day on the piste.

Shlomi Aber – Foolish Games (Original Mix)
A very deep record, but it’s really something. It has a more leftfield vocal than most house records but with Shlomi’s amazingly measured and constantly building backing track it grows into something very special.

Rasmus Faber & Alf Tumble ft Candi Staton – Wilder Side
Candi Staton is one of the all-time legendary singers and this record – while maybe not as well-known as her biggest hits – is still spectacular. What a lyric to open with “This life thing is such a challenge.” It has such a positive message to it as a record and Ramsus and Alf produced such a great backing track as well. Anthemic.

Kings Of Tomorrow – Let Me Tell You Something (Sandy Rivera’s Mix)
Sandy Rivera aka Kings Of Tomorrow has been producing incredible house music records for decades now and the quality never slips. Nods to the old school on this record feel fresh and exciting and the twisted vocal just tops off a superb record.
