Basement Jaxx will DJ at the first of two huge 21st birthday parties for celebrated Leeds club Back To Basics.
These days Back To Basics operates once a month at local venue The Warehouse and bi-weekly at comparatively intimate city space The Garage. Basement Jaxx play The Warehouse on November 3 alongside a selection of residents; a second birthday party at The Garage on November 24 features Chicago sage Chez Damier, Laura Jones, Classic’s Luke Solomon and former Basement Boys affiliate Maurice Fulton.
The Back To Basics team is currently filming a documentary about its history, Tales Of Glamour & Excess: Two Steps Further Than Any Other F**ker, due for release early next year. The theme of both birthday parties is ‘elegant attire’, suggesting organisers will look to include footage of them next to interviews from popular guest DJs including Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter and Jamie Jones; not to mention legendary Back To Basics promoter DaveBeer.
