It’s been nearly 24 hours since the main event but I am still unbelievably excited at what a great party we had last night! Best yet for sure and if they keep going like this then I am going to explode! Saturday genuinely is the best night I have every week – and I’m working – so you guys (if you have been lucky enough to come) must be having an absolute blast! This week was so special; Defected In The House in its purest form…my favourite!

Pacha’s John Jacobsen warmed up and everyone was already going crazy, you could just tell it was going to be good. In came David Morales, the man of mystery, as I had not yet had the pleasure of meeting him. He requests a bottle of vodka, which I get with lots of mixers, and then rips off his top as he mounts the decks. He doesn’t want the mixers, just the vodka; neat with no ice. Screams are in the air and he opens with his own appropriately titled ‘Welcome to Ibiza’. The next 2 hours are raucous fun with classics such as ‘Needin’ U’ and ‘How Would You Feel’ played to my delight and everyone is in awe just saying “yes, yes, YES” inside to themselves.

There are bodies as far as I can see and it is ridiculous fun non-stop; of course it is! As Morales (begrudgingly) slides off the decks, he tells me that this is the best night he’s had in Ibiza this year, and the next David (Penn) moves on just as the 2nd stage show starts- a double whammy of entertainment! Hierbas, hierbas and more hierbas and we’re in the midst of the third and final part of the night. The riot doesn’t stop in Pacha and Penn can’t stop smiling (or dancing). Nor can I. I’m not an overly sentimental person, but on this occasion it is unavoidable. Such a great party! ‘Penn’ chants are heard as the lights come up and it’s all over...but this is Ibiza and the party can always carry on ;)

After dropping a very jealous David Penn off at the airport my accomplice Anna tries to remember some directions she was given earlier about a villa party going on in the hills. “Left at the roundabout after the shop-that-will-remain-nameless and you will see a guy pointing you in the right direction”. That’s it! We drive along the highway and get to the shop and there is the roundabout and there is a big blacked out car sat there. This must be something to do with it! We drive up beside him and both wind our windows down “I ‘think’ you need to go left round that bend and then up, up, UP!” he says, so off we go, up and up, round some bends, round some more and then there are a lot of cars. We must have arrived! The five of us pile out the car into this random tree surrounded one-night-only car park and follow the music up more tracks and then to a man who lets us through his chain and on towards the last few steps before the villa where a lonely horse stands watching as these party people go in. There are about 300 people dancing around to surprisingly loud music, there’s a pool where a random girl decides to strip down and dive in and carries on partying to her friend looking on at her in the pool. I have no idea who the DJ is or who anyone is but I don’t need to know. The sun is high in the sky and hills are all around us and, oh dear, more sentimentality from me.... it’s off home for some well-deserved rest and the horse is still there in the same position, it’s probably been given ketamine or something.

Bring on next weekend with Candi Staton doing a live PA and Quentin Harris, Junior Jack & Kid Creme AND Aaron Ross DJing…arghhhhhhh it’s all too much!

Viva el Partido!
