Inimitable global pop star Bjork will release a Biophilia remix album this autumn.

bastards features remixes of tracks from Biophilia, Bjork’s last album, by the likes of Matthew Herbert, Alvo Noto, Hudson Mohawke and legendary Syrian vocalist Omar Souleyman.  Biophilia was launched late last year on smartphones, tablets and computers – a ground-breaking ‘app album’ conceived by Bjork with help from app developers, scientists, inventors, graphic designers and, of course, musicians.

Bjork evolved bastards out of a series of recording sessions with a wide range of electronic artists, personally selecting the final 13 tracks.  “I spent some time editing together not necessarily the best ones but the ones that made the strongest whole” she explains; “for people who are perhaps not too sassy downloaders or don’t have the time or energy to partake in the hunter-gathering rituals of the internet.”

bastards is released by One Little Indian on November 19, available as vinyl, CD and digital download.
