Black Coffee will play a new festival this spring dedicated to South Africa’s burgeoning dance music scene.

The Cape Town Electronic Music Festival runs March 30 to April 1 and features Coffee alongside fellow local house talents Amaru Da Costa and Culoe De Song, with whom he runs rated South African label Soulistic. The bill also includes protest-minded electro-dubster Warrick Sony, AKA Kalahari Surfer, and drum & bass don Niskerone.

Elsewhere, Coffee (AKA Nkosinathi Maphumulo) and Da Costa give daytime lectures, and festival organisers promise a wide range of fringe activities – some events are scheduled as early as March 27.

The Cape Town Electronic Music Festival takes place on the city’s V&A Waterfront. Visit www.ctemf.com
