Legendary robo-funksters Daft Punk – Gallic duo Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter - will release a brand new album, their seventh (including 2010’s Tron Legacy soundtrack), this spring.
Not much is currently known about Random Access Memories, bar the fact it stretches to 13 tracks and features Chic legend Nile Rodgers as a collaborator (who has confirmed his involvement). Other alleged collaborators include Giorgio Moroder and Animal Collective’s ultra-experimental Panda Bear.
Random Access Memories is now available to order via iTunes and teaser TV advertising and marketing is underway. The album will be released on May 21 by Daft Life Limited, a Daft Punk-steered subsidiary of Sony-owned Columbia Records.
