Athena Johnson, Teresa Marbury and LaRae Starr; get ready to fall in love with Dames Brown all over again as they release their new single 'Glory' on Defected.

The vocal ensemble have been a big part of the Defected family since their first feature on Classic ('Calling Out' with Sophie Lloyd) five years ago, eventually joining Glitterbox crew in 2018 and appearing at the award-winning Defected Croatia 2019.

Over the years, the Dames continued to impress with their exquisite production, striking lyricism and sheer authenticity - leading to their stellar debut ‘What Would You Do?’ featuring Andrés and legendary soul musician Amp Fiddler in 2021.

‘Glory’ is a very personal song. It's a testimony of victory in the face of adversity. When you're down and out and given a chance to restore your magnificent, beautiful self, glory will come, just hold on. ‘Glory’ is a motivating acceleration of what life holds in store! No matter the struggle, don't look back, just keep movin’! We all carry a glow that encourages us to keep on moving.’  - Dames Brown.

The Detroit natives have shown their exceptional talents and effervescence at every turn, snatching the attention of UK radio legend Trevor Nelson and in demand selector Dan Shake among many others - if you've ever been lucky enough to spend time with the Dames, you understand the energy these ladies bring to any room!

Now the trio are returning with a follow up single produced by a fellow Detroiter, underground mainstay and Dirt Tech Reck label founder Waajeed. Soul, funk and gospel come together for ‘Glory’, a record soaked in sunshine and euphoria; the rich electronic history of Dames Brown’s hometown intersperses with the acoustic, live sound of worship for yet another release steeped in authentic house excellence.

Dames Brown featuring Waajeed ‘Glory’ will be released via Defected on 12 May, pre-order/pre-save here now.
