There’s something magical about dancing to the sunrise…
Barbarella’s may have been a bare, open-air club in its beginnings, but in 2011 The Garden’s founder Nick Coglan saw the venue’s potential and restored it, creating the now infamous Barbarella’s Discotheque. It has earned a reputation as the sunrise spot for clubbers, and has become Croatia's most internationally famous nightclub, ranking in at #29 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs.

After a full day and night at Defected Croatia, as the dawn rises, thousands of party people will gather at Barbarella’s for the ultimate afterparty. With the energy building throughout the day and night, the coming together of everyone on the open-air dancefloor makes for magical moments both on the dancefloor and in the DJ booth.
Over the years, we’ve seen some magical moments like Spen & Karizma tearing up the decks, to Eli Escobar’s closing set last year: a true masterclass, so much so that Louie Vega refused to leave… That’s when you know it’s good.
Luke Solomon: ''Barbs is in all honesty, one of the greatest clubs on the planet. There’s a special kind of energy in that place under the stars that somehow rounds off the day in a perfect way. The journey to the venue from the Garden- the goosebumps as you see the pink lights in the sky. Hearing the sound system play the first song of the night and watch people arrive - right up to the last song and the sun coming up .It’s quite literally unbeatable.''
Nick Colgan: Barbarellas founder: ''It was our dream to provide a space for everyone to dance outside and under the stars until dawn, and we made it happen with Barbarella’s discotheque. The universal response from all who dance or DJ at this magical outdoor venue has been breath-taking and has assured its place in the clubbing history books. Barbarella's is situated in a beautiful bay on the Adriatic and is a 5 minute boat ride from our event space The Garden Resort, arriving by speedboat also helps add a little magic to the party.''
We are eagerly counting down the days (310 to be precise) until we can all experience the sunrise at Barbarella’s, dancing in the warm air and not wanting the music to end. To join us for something truly special head here to look at our ticket packages for 2021.
