David Rodigan has been given an MBE in the New Year's honours list.

The legendary reggae and dancehall DJ scored the honour for his contribution and services to broadcasting.

He joins the likes of clubbing institutions Norman Jay (MBE) and Jazzie B (OBE) in being honoured by the Queen for their services.

Rodigan has DJed for radio stations including Kiss, Capital and BBC radio since the 70s.

He's since become a leading authority on Jamaican culture and music as well as a still much in demand club DJ.
