Four classic Defected tracks will be released via the new Stem format over the coming weeks, starting with Kings of Tomorrow feat. April ‘Fall For You’.

As an open multi-track audio format, Stems enhances creative possibilities for DJs, producers, and live performers. A Stem file contains a track split into four musical elements: for example, a drums stem, a bassline stem, a melody stem, and a vocal stem

The Stem format provides the ability to freely interact with a track’s different musical elements. Each ‘stem’ can be controlled independently to create instant new mixes, mashups, instrumentals, acappellas, and more. Stems also expand DJ mixing and performance possibilities by allowing you to mix with isolated parts of a track such as the vocals, or by applying effects to specific parts of the song. multiple decks – take the vocals from one track and mix it with the beat from another.

Kings of Tomorrow feat. April already seminal ‘Fall For You’ is the first release to get the Stem treatment, followed by Daniel Steinberg ‘Let Me Down (Tube & Berger Remix)’ (23 November), Reboot ‘Enjoy Music (Sonny Fodera Remix)’ (30 November) and GotSome ‘Bassline’ (07 December).
