On April 26, Defected In The House returns to the ivy at Pacha Sydney for the second in a series of pool parties, with Huxley and NICe7 at the helm.

Following a sold-out February party with MK and Simon Dunmore that not even an uncharacteristic downpour couldn’t dampen, Defected In The House is back in Sydney this April with another sizzling line-up of contemporary house talent.

Hosting a party at a new venue is always a challenge, but judging from the reports of those in attendance this was easily one of the strongest events of the year so far.

Dunmore was especially enthusiastic: "It was an incredible party" he reports. "Musically the flow was great and the crowd were really knowledgeable and receptive to records both new and old." As ever, MK's set went down a storm with the US producers rep growing more impressive with every appearance. "He absolutely nailed his set" says Dunmore. "Pretty much everyone who was there was on the dancefloor, which is exactly how it should be!

"Considering it rained a lot - never a good thing for a pool party - the atmosphere was incredible. If the sun comes out at the next one it's going to go off!"

This April Huxley and NICe7 take control as we look to build on the success of the first party.

Both in the studio and behind the decks, Huxley has stayed true to his robust, bass-led strain of house music that reflects his formative interests in UK and US Garage. Whether veering towards deeper vibes alongside Ethyl on his own Saints & Sonnets imprint, turning in cast iron grooves for Tsuba or full vocal barnstormers like his lauded 'Let It Go' single for Hypercolour early 2012, there's a clearly defined but pliable and versatile sound to Huxley productions that marks him out as a truly talented producer.

Last year Huxley released the lauded ‘Chatsworth Sound EP’ on Defected Records alongside Shenoda after debuting both tracks in his Boiler Room set in June 2013.

For almost a decade Italian duo NICe7 have been championing an original blend of techy, groove-led house at the world’s leading venues. Fresh from mixing a CD of Defected In The House Miami 2014, NICe7 and Huxley will also be joined by local talent Mo’ Funk who played for Defected at The Tower in Ibiza last year.

The party is the second of the year for Defected In The House at Pacha Sydney and will precede a national tour in conjunction with Ministry of Sound Australia.
