We introduce some of the brand new additions to the Defected In The House Ibiza 2012 season.

The dates for the Defected In The House Ibiza season at Pacha are now confirmed. Kicking off with the Opening Party on 26th May, we’ll be hosting every Saturday throughout the season until the Closing Party on 29th September. That’s 19 opportunities to experience the finest Saturday night out you’ll have anywhere on the planet.

A cursory glance through the line-up will reveal some significant additions to this year’s list of talent. Of course there are some familiar faces; superstars Bob Sinclar, David Morales, Junior Jack & Kid Crème, Frankie Knuckles, The Shapeshifters and plenty more regulars all make an appearance.

In 2012 however – more than ever before – we’ve tried to bring you house music from as broad a spectrum as possible.  Some of these new names you’ll know while some may be a little more unfamiliar, so we’ve put together a little round-up of some the new additions we’re bringing to Pacha for 2012.

Solomun

Who’s that?
Croatia’s most-loved deep house devotee, Solomun has established himself as one of the most sought-after producers and DJs on the planet. Ranked at 20 in Resident Advisor’s 2011 Best DJs Poll, Solomun continues to impress both in the studio and behind the decks, and his label Dynamic is widely recognised as one of the most essential imprints in house. Solomun has never been hotter, and we are proud to have him on our line-up for 2012.
Key track: ‘Daddy’s Jam’

MURK

Who’s that?
Murk is Oscar G and Ralph Falcon, one of the most celebrated and accomplished production outfits in house music. With close to two decades of experience behind them they have a signature sound; one that is utterly unique and which continues to inspire aspiring and established producers to this day. Oscar G is a long-time resident of Pacha New York and promises to bring some a taste of the US house scene to the shores of Ibiza.
Key track: ‘Reach for Me’

Tensnake

Who’s that?
Fans of Defected will probably be more than aware of Tensnake; his breakthrough single ‘Coma Cat’ was omnipresent back in the summer of 2010 which along with his In The House compilation meant there weren’t many places you could go without being exposed to his unashamedly upbeat disco-meets-house grooves. Now, with a much-anticipated album nearing completion, the timing couldn’t be more perfect to let him lose on the White Isle.
Key track: ‘Holding Back My Love’

MK

Who’s that?
Having reignited his love affair with dance music over the last few years, MK’s return has been enthusiastically received by pretty much everyone in the scene. At least partially responsible for the current wave of current-meets-classic sounding house music, MK’s influence on the scene cannot be underestimated. Meanwhile, the ever-modest DJ and producer simply carries on doing what he does best; namely turning out devastatingly  effective records in his often imitated but never bettered style.
Key track: ‘Burning’

Noir

Who’s that?
Noir is a producer, DJ and label owner responsible for some of the most enduring house records of recent times. With his label – Noir Music – the Danish artist has set his stall out, championing cerebral, vocal house music and gaining adoring fans around the world in the process. With a wealth of both talent in the studio and energy behind the decks, he is one of the most exciting performers in house, and it is a privilege to bring him to Pacha, Ibiza for the first time.
Key track: ‘Around’

Inner City Live

Who’s that?
If you need an introduction to the legendary Inner City, you really should have studied your house history book a bit harder. Anyone with even a passing interest in dance music will be aware of their legacy, with tracks such as ‘Good Life’, ‘Big Fun’ and ‘Pennies from Heaven’ among the most celebrated tracks ever written. Having blown us away in London this New Year’s Eve we now bring their unique performance to Pacha for a night not to be missed.
Key track: ‘Good Life’

Aeroplane

Who's that?

Previously a duo, Aeroplane is a one-man operation, giving Vito De Luca the chance to flex his classically trained musical muscles. His 2011 album ‘In Flight Entertainment’ was released to rave reviews across the board, and as a DJ regulars wows audiences across the world with euphoric, uplifting sets and boundless energy.
