Last month, Defected In The House hosted at party at Bob Sinclar's new Miami club Amnesia. Here, Emily Stores reports on how it went down...

After a few days of non-stop torrential rain in Miami, nothing could dampen the mood for a Defected party at Amnesia on the 28th October on South Beach.  The club is a great reflection on how the Ibiza vibe has made its way across the Atlantic to the US.

The club is definitely not your average Miami venue; with only a light sprinkling of VIP areas.  The fundamental structure is definitely designed around the idyllic central dance space, overlooked by a mezzanine terrace entwined with palm trees,  all with full view of the DJ's working their trade... or should I say partying hard with a 2000+ frantic crowd.

The Ibiza feel makes this one of the most exciting clubs to be in, especially when the likes of Simon Dunmore, ATFC and headliner Bob Sinclar supplied a mammoth feast of top quality tunes.  Not forgetting the effervescent sound of Shovell, bringing the added extra as only he does on full display on the raised stage behind the DJ’s.

The sublime lightshow, massive moving visual screens on the stage and thumping base was out of this world and made the Halloween inspired American clubbers go crazy! Just think Batman, Dracula, Wonder-Women, SWAT team members and those ladies just in what seemed to be their underwear! Not even Ibiza could beat the outfits on this night. Just to repeat this was one of the most amazing light shows ever seen in a club.

Having spotted Simon Dunmore after his set, and being invited back stage for a few small aperitifs, only then could you see the full spectacle of this truly amazing club. Bob Sinclair had the crowd going crazy with his trademark tracks and making sure of course, that week after week they will come back for more. And they most definitely will after that display!

After visiting Ibiza, with Ushuaia and Pacha, attending ADE in Amsterdam, the DITH residency was well and truly launched in Miami and long live Amnesia and its great parties!

Bring on Defected at MOS Nov 26th!
