On Saturday 26th November, Defected goes Treble Dutch with Holland’s finest in The Box and the first ladies of House in the 103, with limited £10 tickets available to all Defected fans.
Sat 26th Nov 2011
Ministry of Sound
Box: 2000 and One, Chocolate Puma, Franky Rizardo
103: Gina Turner, Rae DJ & Live Vocals, Sam Divine
Competing in the Box we have three Dutch Masters: 2000 and One, Chocolate Puma and freshman Franky Rizardo bringing the Defected Amsterdam connection to London.
Defected’s association with 2000 and One came to fruition this spring with his standout mix of MK’s seminal ‘4 You’ before he stole the show (more than once) at Defected Festival appearances across Europe this summer. One of the very first elite techno producers out of Holland he has championed the true sound of Amsterdam through his 100% Pure and Remote Area labels and is the man behind some of Holland’s biggest underground anthems; a master of deep looped-up Tech House and Techno.
Chocolate Puma are THE real Godfathers of the Dutch dance scene, recently crowned ‘House Masters’ by Defected. They have consistently produced genre-defining records under various aliases; not least with UK Chart Top 5 'Give It Up' as The Goodmen along with ‘I Wanna Be U’ and ‘Always & Forever’.
20 years down the line they still occupy a commanding position across house music and have been responsible for starting the careers of a host of today’s superstars including Laidback Luke and are the inspiration to many of the Netherlands’ up-and-coming stars.
A burgeoning star from Amsterdam, Franky Rizardo is an effervescent and versatile DJ collaborator of Sidney Sampson amongst others. His critically-acclaimed ‘Caracoles’ nestles somewhere between DJ Gregory in Afrobeat mode and the raw Dutch power of artists like the aforementioned Chocolate Puma. In fact, Franky’s late-season appearance in Ibiza has gone down as one of THE Defected In The House Ibiza sets of the whole summer... we just had to bring him to London.
Franky Rizardo live at Ushuaia Ibiza - Defected In The House 17-09-2011 by Franky Rizardo
Meeting them head on in 103, we present three excellent DJ/producers Sam Divine, Rae and US-based Gina Turner who forms one half of the Latin-inspired production duo ‘Nouveau Yorican’ with Dutch megastar Laidback Luke. Gina plays a tougher jackin’ style that will compliment Defected’s Ushuaia host Sam Divine on the night.
Sam is undoubtedly one of THE Ibiza residents of 2011 whilst Rae’s debut sets in Ibiza won her plaudits from all ‘those in the know ‘on the White Isle. With her fresh approach to performance, Rae adds LIVE vocals of her major releases throughout her set to make herself one of the headline performers this year. These three could take over any club in the world and rock it.
See you on the dancefloor...
