Germany’s elite take control of the finest club soundsystem in the World.
For our first major UK outing of 2013, we're bringing two of its latest stars of the underground back to London, as Nick Curly and Tensnake headline another stellar Defected In The House line-up at Ministry of Sound.
Nick Curly’s musical heroics have made him one of the most loved artists in house right now. The driving force behind the so-called ‘Sound of Mannheim’, Nick also runs two acclaimed imprints in Cécille and 8bit and continues to impress with his ground-breaking residency for Kehakuma at Space, Ibiza. His appearance at Ministry of Sound celebrates the full release of his debut album ‘Between The Lines’ (with bonus remixes from Dennis Ferrer, Larry Heard, Osunlade, Guti and more) with his own brand of deep, tech house.
Tensnake will already be familiar to many of you. Back in 2010 he erupted onto the scene will the all-conquering Coma Cat, a record which propelled him to global stardom. Late last year he returned with the 90s-inspired Mainline, which once again found acclaim in all the right quarters. An instant underground hit, it features in-demand Rudimental collaborator Syron on vocals who according to I-D Magazine was one of “2012’s Coolest Females”. Syron makes her Ministry of Sound debut as she performs the song live. They are joined in The Box by Simon Dunmore.
Heading up proceedings in 103 is Holland’s Franky Rizardo, an exciting producer who is making an indelible mark on the world stage having established himself in the Defected ranks. 2012 alone saw Rizardo release singles Real Love EP, On My Own and Chicambo EP on Defected Records, as well as his sublime reworking of Pirupa’s Party Non Stop, showcasing his unique production aesthetic and undeniable versatility. His ability behind the decks is no less impressive and his energetic, eclectic take on house has won him thousands of fans around the world.
Tuccillo is a contemporary Ibiza legend. A year-round island resident, Tuccillo holds a number of residencies – notably at Pacha, Ibiza – and through his fiercely dancefloor-orientated productions has built a solid reputation as an artist of extraordinary talents. Recent releases on 20:20 Vision, King Street, Freerange and Defected have shown him to be a producer in high demand, while anyone fortunate to have experienced his legendary sets in Pacha’s Funky Room will know his sets are not to be missed. Completing the line-up is Defected resident Sam Divine who this year was resident DJ for Ibiza’s Ushuaia beach venue and closed an astonishing show at Defected’s New Year’s Eve sell-out in Brixton.
