Dennis Ferrer, the Bronx’s finest House producer effortlessly bridges the gap between techno and soul. He visits London on Oct 10th.
Dennis Ferrer is one of those very rare DJ's that competently straddles the treacherous ground between Soul to Techno. A guy influenced as much by Gospel and Afro Beats as he is with Deep House. An absolute DJ's DJ, this Bronx born uber producer has built up a reputation as being a leader in the contemporary house sound, and believe me many producers are following faithfully.
"It doesn't matter if it's gospel house, Brazilian house, jazz house, or whatever. As long as it's got soul and moves people, that's all that matters." DF
You’ll hear a lot of his own productions in his set and rightly so. This is the guy that brought us 'Sandcastles' a seminal track (in conjunction with Jerome Sydenham) that many believe was a turning point for House. He has gone onto produce some of the most respected dance records in the last few years from his artist album 'The World as I See It' to his recent release ‘Sinfonia Della Notte’ on the legendary Strictly Rhythm Label. His DJ style is pacey and technical, he really is a must see DJ and has been awarded big up’s by (almost) every DJ in (almost) every genre including Kenny Dope, Luciano and Loco Dice, who are all big supporters.
Supporting in the main room are Copyright. These home grown UK DJ’s give the American House fraternity a run for their money. They are the original Defected residents and have released some of the labels best loved tracks from their latest artist album ‘Voices and Visions’ to their recent club releases Wizeman, Warrior Groove and Yema Ya. With a huge international reach, they press pause on their tour to perform in London.
In the bar we have DJ Yass, the Parisian producer, remixer and former resident DJ at Paris’s infamous Queen Club. His style is soulful house with added kick, his sound is unique blending New York and French House sounds together to present his own inimitable style.
In the bar you will also find resident Aaron Ross and Andy Daniell, firm defected residents showcasing the best of the labels sound.
