We've just announced our latest global stop for the autumnn - Defected Dubai, which will run in October 2023 across three days and venues. The weekend event, the largest of its kind for Defected in Dubai, will land following an epic summer of touring, having touched down in various locations including US & Canada, South America, Georgia, Europe and a massive debut at Glastonbury festival.
On Friday 13th October Defected’s world-class production, unbeatable line-ups and no-nonsense approach to house music will descend on Dubai for a party at a never-before-used warehouse location. Saturday 14th the party moves on to Soul Beach Dubai, at JA The Resort’s marina for the best that the emirate can offer; sunsoaked skies on the Arabian Gulf, with plenty more of Defected’s signature soulful house for the discerning dance music lover. Finally on Sunday 15th we'll be taking the party to the pool for one more day of house hedonism.
We look forward to laying on an incredibly diverse line-up and anticipate broad attendance from the UAE’s melting pot of diverse cultures and communities. Powering daxncefloors across the weekend will be label favourites Sam Divine, Mike Dunn, Darius Syrossian, Roger Sanchez, Areille Free, alongside the unstoppable He She They resident Syreeta and rising stars Rio Tashan and Dunmore Brothers. Defected's Head of Inclusion, Nathan Jordan, will be overseeing the event, representing several initiatives introduced this year focused on our events being as welcoming as possible to all, underpinned by our 'In Our House We Are All Equal' ethos. The programmes include work behind the scenes at venues and publicly with our global community to set new standards and create accountability.
Ahead of the event, Nathan says:
“After living and working in Dubai for several years, I believe it's the perfect time for Defected to introduce this event to the region. Defected's events are renowned for bringing people together and providing space for people to get lost in the music as one. I'm confident that this will be well-received by the country's incredibly diverse communities. It's important to me that we continue to prioritise creating safer spaces for everyone, and this event will be no different.”
Defected is proud to collaborate regularly with charitable organisations - proceeds from Defected Dubai will be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, for which Defected's CEO Wez Saunders is a board member, and others.
Defected Dubai will run from 13th October – 15th October 2023.
