The debut release comes from rising star of UK Garage BVNQUET with ‘Too Late Now’, featuring Emma Cannon. This will come as the first of a four-single deal with BVNQUET, culminating in an EP later this year. BVNQUET’s modern take on the quintessential garage sound makes a fitting first release to demonstrate the sonic intentions of Bad Decisions, founded by our CEO / UKG aficionado Wez Saunders as a self-proclaimed “passion project”.

“I think most people know me as the CEO and co-owner of Defected, and the Defected ecosystem of close to thirty labels. In my capacity here at Defected over the years I’ve helped set up a number of new labels - including John Summit’s Experts Only, LP Giobbi’s Yes Yes Yes, D4 D4NCE in 2020, and most recently One People. As well as this I’ve helped our friends and artists Sam Divine, Sonny Fodera, Franky Rizardo, Low Steppa, Marshall Jefferson, and just this month we launched Dennis Ferrer’s Thriftshoppe.
The latest brand-new label is Bad Decisions, this is a bit of a passion project for me. I think most people know I’m a not-so-secret garage fan and I feel there’s definitely a gap within the Defected ecosystem. I’ve signed some amazing records for it already from super-talented artists, the first being BVNQUET who I think has huge potential. The time is right for us to make some Bad Decisions ourselves.” – Wez Saunders
Debuting in 2022 with ‘Mornings’, in just two short years BVNQUET has caught the attention of key tastemakers and been in the studio with major players such as General Levy. ‘Too Late Now’ demonstrates BVNQUET’s natural affinity for collaboration, with singer/songwriter Emma Cannon providing the earworm vocal to perfectly compliment his slick production. A record that bursts with youthful energy while incorporating a healthy dose of golden-era UKG nostalgia, there is no doubt BVNQUET is a serious one-to- watch with this label debut.

The project has taken a year to make, I’ve whittled down loads of demos to the best few.
