Under his newly formed IDRIS alias, the Hollywood talent will release across both Defected and D4 D4NCE. IDRIS will continue to build on the success of previous releases with us, including his remix of Fish Go Deep & Tracy K ‘The Cure & The Cause’ out earlier in 2024.
We are proud to announce the signing of British icon and Hollwood actor IDRIS (aka Idris Elba), on a multi-single deal across Defected and sub-label D4 D4NCE.

A partnership that has already proved effective, this announcement follows the homegrown DJ turned global A-Lister’s appearances with us at international parties (including Miami Music Week and Manchester’s The Warehouse Project in 2023), with IDRIS remixing one of the label’s most iconic catalogue records ‘The Cure & The Cause’ as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations this year, as well as his collaboration with Inner City ‘No More Looking Back’ released in 2021.
Now unveiling IDRIS’ first solo original track, ‘La Trumpeta’ showcases his signature global sound in full force; a powerful Latin trumpet solo dominates, signalling the arrival of pounding four on the floor breakdowns that have major club appeal.
