Last week, a clash of biblical proportions took place at the Team Sport race track in London’s east end. Representatives from dance music behemoths Hospital Records, Defected and Mixmag fired up their engines in a race between drum ‘n’ bass, house and, err.., everything else respectively.

Racing on behalf of Defected were Junior Jack, Simon Marlin (The Shapeshifters), Rae and Andy Daniell, lining up for team Hospital were Danny Byrd, one half on Danism Dan Nu:Tone, Tony Colman and Hospital's head of press and promo Tom Kelsey, while Mixmag were represented by Digby (staff writer), Nick Stevenson (associated editor), Duncan Dick (deputy editor) and David Brophy (online).

You can read the full day’s report in next month’s edition of Mixmag, and while we’re not going to steal their thunder by revealing who won, who crashed (repeatedly) and who escaped with only a fractured arm and minor bruising (not really), what we can tell you is that it was a fun-packed, high octane afternoon that brought the two distant cousins of dance that little bit closer.

You can check out the pics of the race, taken by Tony ‘TK’ Smith right here.
