**COMPETITION UPDATE**
A massive THANK YOU to everyone that entered our competition to DJ For The World. The entrants once again have been of such a high standard. You guys are so talented, it never ceases to amaze us at Defected HQ. Previously when we hosted the mix competition to win the chance to play at Defected Croatia in 2019, it was so tough to pick a winner that we ended up curating a dedicated stage programmed entirely with the best of the DJs who entered. While we sadly don’t have the luxury or capability to add an additional stage to our Virtual Festivals, we needed another day to get through all 750 entries and we have decided to pick four winners instead of just one as originally intended. Two winners will play a 30 minute set each on Friday 8th May, and the other two will play a 30 minute set each on Friday 22nd May.
Now it’s our pleasure to announce our FOUR incredible winners… Playing in the Virtual Festival on Friday, 8th May will be:

We're offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to budding DJs in our community, with a competition to win a slot at an upcoming Defected Virtual Festival. The Virtual Festivals, streamed across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch TV, have clocked up over 8.5 million views over four events to date, uniting people from 142 countries on our virtual dancefloor. Gathering media attention from the likes of BBC News, Channel 4, Le Monde, Financial Times, The Guardian, Billboard and many more, our weekly festivals are keeping us going through lockdown, and proving more than ever house music's power to unite us.
Now it's your turn. We know we have thousands of undiscovered DJs in our worldwide community so we want to encourage you to step up to the Virtual Festivals’ global platform. The lucky winners will be appearing virtually alongside our headliners that have so far included Calvin Harris, Gorgon City, Bob Sinclar, Roger Sanchez and Sam Divine. One winner will be chosen for a 30min slot, to appear in a Defected Virtual Festival.
How to enter:
- The competition opens on Thursday 23rd April, and closes at 12am BST on Tuesday 28th April
- Record a 15min video of yourself mixing and upload it as an unlisted video to YouTube
- Send a link to your YouTube video to virtual@defected.com
- Entrants must be aged 16 or over
Four shortlisted artists will be chosen from the entries based on their ability to mix, their track selections and their musical affinity to Defected or Glitterbox respectively. After the shortlist is revealed on Wednesday 29th April, members of Defected’s YouTube Community page will then vote to select two finalists, with the ultimate winner to be decided by the Defected team on Friday 1st May.
