DJ Harvey is to play his first gigs in the UK for over a decade.
He'll be making for London and Manchester next month for two gigs presented by the Red Bull Music Academy.
Harvey will hit the Oval Space in Bethnal Green on October 19, and then it's up the motorway to Manchester to play the Warehouse Project's new venue in Trafford Park on October 25. On both nights he will play all-night with no guests.
Harvey has become something of a legendary figure in dance music, having pioneered the early house sounds with his Tonka soundsystem.
He later went on to forge the sound at London's Ministry of Sound, inviting over the likes of Paradise Garage legend Larry Levan, Francois K and Kenny Carpenter to play at Moist, his party at the Gardening Club. Accidentally exiling himself in the US by staying until his visa ran out, meant that he wouldn't be able to return if he left the country.
Now with a green card, he is free to roam the globe once again, and this will be his first trip to the UK.
Advance tickets for the London even have already sold out, but a limited second issue will be released on October 11.
