Celebrated Frankfurt nightclub Cocoon is set to close down at the end of this month, after falling into administration in September.

Cocoon’s management team were working with administrators to keep the venue alive, as various official press announcements confirmed.  However, German media reports are now suggesting Cocoon Club –which employs nearly 100 people - cannot be run as a long-term business.  Weekly German news magazine Der Spiegel quotes one of Cocoon’s administrators Frank Mößle thus:  “A long-term viable business operation, given the size and structures... is not currently feasible.”  Reportedly, Cocoon Club’s lease has already been cancelled.

It has been stressed throughout the process that the club is entirely separate to the Cocoon label and artist management company, and that Cocoon visionary Sven Vath was “just a partner... who was never involved in any daily business operations.”  Watch this space for updates and potential closing party activity.
