Star dubstep collective Magnetic Man – Benga, Skream and Artwork – will play Sonar next year, as will strident Big Apple composer Steve Reich, whose slow, harmonic, minimal scores have influenced clubland producers for years.

Sonar runs June 16-18 in Barcelona, Spain, and Reich is confirmed to head its opening concert, playing excerpts of his 1987 work Sextet and pivotal composition Music For 18 Musicians.

But organisers are also planning new subsidiary events in Tokyo and London.  A Taste Of Sonar visits London’s Roundhouse theatre March 19 and SonarSound Tokyo occupies the Japanese capital’s super-club AgeHa on consecutive nights between April 1-3.

Apart from the main festival, Magnetic Man also play Sonar Galicia – a further round of Sonar-related events taking place in Spanish city Coruna at the same time as Barcelona’s main electronic festivities.
