On Saturday April 5, Defected In The House continues its residency at Ministry of Sound, London. With Defected firmly committed to bringing you the very best in global house talent, this next party will see three superb acts taking control of Ministry’s The Box; arguably the finest room in the world to listen to house music as it was intended… LOUD!
Fresh from mixing Defected In The House Miami 2014, Andrea Oliva, Paolo Rocco and NiCe7 will all appear at The Box’s hallowed decks as the capital prepares itself for the next instalment of one of the most talked-about parties in the clubbing calendar.
Fans of the respective acts will know that they’re in for a treat already, but if you’re a little less familiar with them, here’s a preview of the kind of dancefloor vibe they’ll be creating come April 5.
Andrea Oliva
Last year was Andrea Oliva's most successful to date. Resident for Ushuaia's wildly successful ANTS party for the 2013 season he also topped the Beatport charts with his remix of Luciano's ‘Rise Of Angels’ which became one of Cadenza's biggest selling records to date.
Expect deep, tech grooves, explosive percussion and just a touch of weirdness from a set that is guaranteed to be intricate and unique. Here are a few of his current favourites.
Paolo Rocco
Born Canadian of Italian decent, Paolo Rocco first made his mark as a DJ in the Montreal house music scene and has since gone on to see his various productions and remixes supported by industry heavyweights Damian Lazarus, Nic Fanciulli, DJ Sneak and Maya Jane Coles to name just a few.
Offering probably the deepest take on house from the acts playing The Box, Rocco’s sound harnesses emotion like few others, with the intertwining melodies and subtle ebb and flow of his sets creating a heady dancefloor atmosphere. There are just some of the cuts you can expect to hear.
NiCe7
For almost a decade Italian duo NICe7 have been releasing music on respected labels such as Noir Music, Suara and Great Stuff, while in 2013 they performed at major electronic music events including Miami Winter Music Conference, Amsterdam Dance Event, and Berlin Music Days, championing their an original blend of techy, groove-led house at the world’s leading venues.
Fans of Defected will likely have seen the duo in action before, but if not, expect thumping basslines and twisted vocals to feature heavily in their set on April 5, with the following records giving you an idea of what’s in store.
So if any of these cuts capture your imagination, there’s only one place to be on Saturday April 5.
See you on the dancefloor…
