Real Tone swing king Franck Roger has confirmed details of his second artist album, due next month.
Monsieur Roger is strongly associated with an angular but soulful blend of deep house which takes its cues from classic New York and Chicago as much as it does contemporary Europe. Fans can expect more of the same on the new long-player, entitled Extensions Of Yesterday, but also a growing focus on harder, dubbier grooves.
Regular vocal collaborator Mandel Turner guest stars on track Sands Of Time; the album follows Roger’s 2006 debut We Walk To Dance as well as a slew of EPs over the past decade or so on imprints including Crash, Kenlou (a MAW subsidiary), Seasons, Earthrumental and Versatile.
Extensions Of Yesterday is released on Circus Company (not to be confused with Yousef’s Circus Recordings - Roger released two EPs on the French label last year) on March 25.
