To celebrate the release of Azuli Amsterdam ’11 – of which he has mixed one of the discs – Franky Rizardo has put together a 30 minute mix of some of his biggest inspirations. Featuring seminal artists such as Daft Punk and Masters at Work, this is a superbly crafted insight into what makes Franky tick.
Check out the tracklist and Franky’s comments below:
Azuli Amsterdam 2011 - Inspirations DJ mix by Franky Rizardo by Azuli Records
Kings Of Tomorrow feat. Julie McKnight - Finally
One of the best house vocals ever! I heard this for the first time on a Deep Dish compilation and replayed it every day for a few weeks.
Fish Go Deep - The Cure and The Cause (Dennis Ferrer Remix)
One of my favourite remixes and in my opinion, one of his the best. I think this track is 10 out of 10 material. I was so inspired the first time I hear it in a club. This track has an amazing tension.
Daft Punk - Around the World
I chose this track because it was featured on the first album I ever bought, Daft Punk's Homework. It amazes me how this track never feels old!
Funk Rule Supreme - Voodooz
This track is very special to me because it marks the turning point when I started focusing more on the house genre (I was a bit into trance at the time!). When I heard DJ Roog play this during a Mysteryland live set I knew, this is the sound I wanted to make!
Ian Pooley - 900 Degrees
This also never gets old, amazing piano riff and still very playable.
Kim English – Nite life
A little garage into the mix, I still love to play this track out, a classic!
Masters At Work - Work
The best dance Accapella… ever!
Marlon D - Jesus Creates Sound
I think this track clearly shows that nailing the drums can be enough to make an amazing track.
