Good Times will miss its first carnival in 30 years, after Norman Jay announced that he will not be hosting his annual Notting Hill shindig.
Despite celebrating 30 years of the sound system this year, he and brother Joey will miss the event due to 'extenuating circumstances'. Calling it a 'gap year', Jay has said that Good Times will be back next year.
Meanwhile, he has just released a special 30th anniversary album through Strut, featuring a wealth of Good Times classics from the likes of Little Anthony and the Imperials, Cee-Lo Green and Basement Chemist.
A short film about Jay's linchpin party can be seen on the Guardian website.
