Internationally revered DJ and producer Richie Hawtin has been ranting about exclusive Berlin techno club Berghain on Facebook after he was, in a massive twist of irony, denied entry last weekend.
"“U [sic] know what, BERGHEIM [sic] is a great club once you are inside, but why does the door policy have to be so fucking ridiculously hard,” he exclaims on the popular social networking site. “Come on guys, you have a great club but don’t act so egotistically cool. We would all love to play and work with you, but you need a serious atitude [sic] adjustment!!! Good luck and remember those who have been supporting your scene before you even opened…....”
Hawtin, who moved to Berlin from New York in 2003, brought word of the incident himself. The city's Berghain club is well known for its elitist, and often random door policy; bouncers have reportedly, in the past, banned English-speaking clubbers.
