"It gives me goosebumps, its quality from start to finish; it’s a return to the finest virtues of house music". Pete Tong.

Take note people, Dennis Ferrer's new track 'Hey Hey' is without question the biggest original house record of the moment. This is a house masterpiece from an original House Master; Dennis Ferrer has produced a timeless track.

Pete Tong focuses only on the tracks exuding the most heat, and sure enough he was quick to pick up on ‘Hey Hey’, immediately making it his Essential New Tune.

“There are not too many vocals coming out these days that don't sound dated in what is considered soulful vocal house" says Dennis of the track. "Music is about evolution, pushing boundaries… keeping current yet not forgetting to employ some of your roots.  It's also remembering that at the end of the day a good song you can sing to will make most people dance,” he adds.

Dropped into sets by some of the world’s DJ elite since the end of summer, causing a massive reaction each time it’s been played, ‘Hey Hey’ has seen the less fortunate relentlessly searching, requesting it and scrambling to own it, until now…

Although best known as the most in-demand underground house DJ, Dennis is no stranger to cross over chart success. It was his mix of Fish go Deep ‘The Cure and the Cause’ that pushed the track to its peak, as well as his mix of Blaze 'Most Precious Love'; both UK Top 30 chart performers.

“We have been working with Dennis Ferrer for over five years knowing that he was an exceptional talent," says Simon Dunmore of the signing. "He has made, or been involved with, many great records that have been released on Defected so it was only a matter of time before he produced a record of enormous potential.  'Hey Hey' is an anthem on the House scene and the groundswell of support is so rapid that we believe this deserves to be a crossover success.”
