Ahead of the release of their House is a Feeling mix compilation, Audiowhores give us their take on all the tracks that feature.
Early Doors
1) Tensnake - "Coma Cat" (Original)
Possibly ‘the’ track of the year and the perfect opener for the mix. Such a fresh, yet familiar sound…..really sets the tone.
2) M - "Spirit Calling"
Continuing on the Balearic tip, this is a great beach house track. We started programming the mix during the summer and this a great summer record! Missed it first time around, so really glad we found it whilst trawling the vast Defected catalogue.
3) KOT - "Can't Stop" (Wahoo)
One of our all time favourite vocals. Rae at her best……and Wahoo absolutely nailed this mix. What a groove!
4) Dubtribe Sound System - "Do It Now" (Extended)
We are HUGE fans of Knee Deep, we love everything they do and this is another great example of the German Duo at work.
5) King Unique - "Love Is What You Need" (Ralf Gum)
Great update from Ralf Gum. Sounds like a modern day Soulfuric record!
6) Jay J - "Keep On Rising" (DJ Chus)
This was massive for us in 2003; still sounds great today and really takes the mix up a gear. Reminds us of ‘Out In The Sticks’ which was the legendary club near Manchester where we met and Audiowhores was born! Sam Holt of Copyright was another regular there.
7) Dennis Ferrer – “Sinfonia Della Notte”
No mix would be complete without a Dennis F production and this one slots seamlessly into any set. Pure genius….as always.
8) Oreja - "Vazilando" (Accapella)
9) Copyright - "We Can Rise"
Our good pals Sam and Gav’ with a monster from a few years back. We play all their releases and this particular track was huge for us…..nice uplifting section in the mix. Brings back great memories.
10) DJ Gregory - "Attend"
One of Gregory’s finest moments, a timeless classic. We mashed this quite heavily with Copyright’s – “We Can Rise” in the mix. Cheeky little edit for our sets!
11) Audiowhores – Balerica
We have been sitting on this gem for a little while now waiting for the right moment. We decided to include it as an exclusive single on the album. It’s a proper deep house groove……we love it!
12) South Street Players - "Who Keeps Changing Your Mind" (Daniel Bovie and Roy Rox)
This is a very respectful re-rub of the Strictly classic. Really strikes a chord…..hairs on the back of the neck moment!
13) Audiowhores - "I'm Inspired" (Club)
Our first Defected release still standing the test of time. This was the more dubby of the mixes, which bubbles and builds all the way. Check it if you missed it first time!
14) Guy Robin - "Still Standing"
What a cool slice of soulful house and a nice ending to part 1……great to see Defected still signing great records right across the board.
Late Night Floors
1) Sandy Rivera & Rae - "Hide U"
Tasty cover of the classic which has been going off for us in the clubs recently. Kicks the ‘Late Night’ mix off with a punch!
2) DJ Gregory - "Canoa" (Canoa (DJ Chus & David Herrero Balaerica Mix)
Inspirational combination of the two in form producers, Gregory and Chus. Gregory is back in a big way, this time with a little help from Chus!
3) DJ Chus - "Still Beatin" (Original)
Sublime production from man of the moment, DJ Chus. This sounds absolutely huge on a big system. Brings back fond memories of a mental gig we did at Stadium Club, Jakarta early 2010.
4) Audiowhores & Haze - "Prescription" (Club)
This is our second single with Haze. He is the master of hooks and this is the funkiest of the mixes.

5) Audiowhores & Haze - "Stay" (2010 Dub Edit)
One of our favourite productions to date, so we thought we’d give it a little re-touch for the album. We still play this out on every gig and it works every time. The mix is rocking now!
6) Rasmus Faber & Candi Staton - "Wilder Side" (Tong & Rogers Club)
This is huge, end of story! Just had to include it in the mix.
7) Copyright - "Someday" (Seige)
Is there such thing as a bad Copyright record? Yet another classic, this time getting a main room push from Seige.
8) David Penn & Oscar De Rivera - "The Horns"
Peak time action now……check out the break, it’s ridiculous! BIG, BIG sound.
9) The Jinks - "Dynamite Muzik" (Greg Van Bueren Remix)
Another old friend Greg of Hardsoul turns the knobs on this bumpy house number.
10) Kathy Brown - "Don't Give Up" (Audiowhores 2010 Remix)
An exclusive update of the Defected classic. We made this with Ibiza in mind and we think we captured that. Balearic, atmospheric, proggy, smooth and soulful house all at the same time!
11) Jason Chance - "Headshake"
Speaking of Ibiza, this made the shortlist because it reminds us of a top weekend we had on the White Isle with Simon and Max (Shapeshifters) a couple of summers ago. Pacha baby!
12) Audiowhores & Ann Saunderson - "Connected" (Vocal Mix)
We teamed up with legend Ann Saunderson of Inner City on this, our third Defected release…..and Ann absolute smashed it. Thanks for hooking this one up Simon!
13) ATFC - "I Called U (The Conversation)" (ATFC's Conversation Killer)
We play this out all the time and it never fails. It takes forever to get there, but it is well worth the wait. It takes the roof off every time…..mental!
14) Julie McKnight "Home" (Audiowhores 2010 Remix)
We saved our best for last! It could have been difficult remixing such a monumental record, so we were well chuffed with the result on this one! The feedback has been amazing, it’s a biggy!
