This time it is the deserved turn of Copyright to be awarded the enviable title of House Masters. Over their 11 year career, they have released over 20 singles and EPs, delivered countless remixes and their tracks have appeared on over 100 compilations and mix CDs. Add to this a relentless tour schedule taking in every continent on the planet and you have two of the hardest working guys in the game.

Originally from Preston Sam Holt cut his dance music teeth DJing in clubs in Manchester, including the legendary Hacienda. North London boy Gavin Mills started out pioneering music in the early rave scene and has now become one of the best know international producers on the circuit. Both started from humble beginnings and have gone on to become legendary House Masters.

And in case you wanted advice from the duo on how they became so successful they have stated ‘Stay true to yourself - stay with what you are feeling and make music that you want to make don't be a fashion follower’. Advice that any newby would be wise to follow.

Copyright have been on an upward curve now for a long while, and it gets ever steeper, with their sound developing along the way. It was one of their earliest tracks released on the US label Soulfuric called ‘Late At Night’ that set the standard for their own level of quality.

Then came ‘Bulo’ featuring the unmistakable tribal drum sound of their loyal percussionist and right hand man ‘Shovell’. This was the track that seriously got the ball rolling for them where they enjoyed great club success and profile.  It was not until a year later that there sound developed further.  ‘He Is’ was definitely a turning point for them with its gospel chant and pacey production, they followed with ‘I Pray’ again an intoxicating gospel moment that helped cement their place as innovative UK producers and brought them to the attention of every other dance music aficionado around. Then came one of their most recognised and successful moments from their first artist album ‘Voices and Visions’ the track was ‘Wizeman’ featuring Immani and it has been relentlessly requested of them since.

It’s not just their classics that have been included here, there is the new ‘Circuit Break’ and of course the hot summer mash up that came almost out of the blue from fellow producer Chris Lake,’La Tromba Rising’ which is of course an amalgamation of ‘La Tromba’s’ beats and their own ‘We Can Rise’ accepella.

Then there are the remixes. Some of their best moments including the re-edit of the NY house anthem ‘I Can’t Get No Sleep’ by Masters at Work, again marking a turning point and allowing them to work with their ultimate House Heroes.  Then there was there re-work of the Ibiza anthem ‘La Mezcla’ a remix that was again repeatedly played in the summer of 2009.

All tracks that feature here are a testament to Copyright’s maturity and talent as class A remixers and producers.  Ultimately its hats off to them as we give them the props they deserve for flying the UK house flag.
