After 10 years in the game, Chew The Fat continues to be a major player on London’s clubbing calendar. Saturday 16th March sees the return of the underground party outfit after a couple of month’s respite, and this time to London Bridge’s industrial raving Mecca that is Cable’s dance floor.
Featuring an exclusive appearance from esteemed Berlin based DJ and producer Ian Pooley, one of the rare artists who can walk between the lines of cult and mainstream sounds, it’s evident that Chew The Fat founder Paul Arnold is still making moves to be at the forefront of promoting the purist of underground house and techno sounds. Performing tracks from his new album, Pooley’s first studio LP since his acclaimed ‘What I do’ in 2008, this has the all makings for a special headline performance.
Playing alongside Pooley in Room 1 will be Homework, a Dutch production duo, who have recently been signed to Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision imprint following a succession of releases on Exploited and Made to Play. Completing the main room line-up is Chew The Fat favourite Al Bassline, iDiOSYNC’s Josh Butler and fellow Mancunian Alex Blaxx.
And looking after proceedings in Room 2 will be the Eton Messy crew who will continue to champion chilled out house and leftfield garage vibes having invited some of their favourite producers including Apple Bottom, Justus Recording’s TCTS, Bristol based Sly-one and Leeds very own Transmission Collective to play alongside them.
