Saturday's Defected In The House was a belter!!  The island is really busy at the moment and it’s still relatively early in the season, so there are plenty of good times ahead for sure!  Tonight at the club we have two heavy weights, Dimitri from Paris and David Morales, both of whom know a thing or two about rocking a crowd.

Dimitri from Pairs is surely the best-dressed man in disco. He swaggers into the booth in a smart blazer, crisp white shirt and bow tie looking like something straight out a Stella Artois commercial.  His set reflects his demeanour; cool and crisp, with disco flavours early-doors before heading into more house orientated cuts such as Human Life’s ‘In It Together’ and Olav Basoski’s ‘New Day’, plus his own remix of Stardust’s stone-cold classic ‘Music Sounds Better With You. The funk never leaves his set as he drops the massive disco cut Relight My Fire which takes the roof off! All with one hand his pocket….tres bien monsieur!

Morales enters the booth getting down to the good time vibes whilst setting up a laptop and an Akai controller, you can tell he's itching to get on the decks and Dimitri gives him the nod and he's soon smashing it out with Oliver Lang’s massive ‘Doing Ya Thang’ and our very own Luca Bacchetti & Guti ‘Esa Nena Quiere’.  The latter seems to be so good its blow Morales shirt off, and he stands in the booth flexing and banging out tune after tune to a heaving Pacha.  Another top night under our belts!

After a heavy weekend, Monday usually means pulling your backside out of bed and heading back to reality; but if you’re in Ibiza it means only one thing…Circo Loco shenanigans!!

The good thing about DC-10 is you know exactly what you’re getting; a no nonsense club that plays heads down, underground music by some of the best acts on the scene today.   Today's line up keeps to that ethos with Zip, Damien Lazarus, Jamie Jones and Seth Troxler all headlining.  Heading straight for the terrace I'm instantly greeted by what is undoubtedly one of the best atmospheres on the island,  the place is packed with a crowd that's high in spirits and rocking to the rolling deep house vibes of Circo Loco veteran Tania Vulcano.

There have been some noticeable changes to the club this year; they've laid a new flooring,  added sound proofing in the ceiling and tweaked the system, making the overall sound clarity so much better as in previous years it was far to bass-heavy. After a quick chat with some old friends I fall quickly into line with the twisted techno sounds of Perlon boss Zip. Zip is a DJ who I feel should be right up there with the A list; his set's never fail and judging by the crowd’s reaction they agree too.

As the sun sets on the terrace it's time to get a little darker as we head to the club room to listen to Damien Lazarus getting down in his cape and hat, looking like a futuristic Dickensian character. At any rate,  it's all about the music not the outfits and I'm totally digging Lazarus sound at the moment, with all the ingredients to make a party swing; depth, funk and soul as tracks by Hot Natured roll alongside Maceo Plex cuts.

If I had to make one complaint about Circo Loco it’s that it finishes far too early, but then there's always a bit of Cocoon to be had if you've got the stamina..!
