Renowned London arts venue the ICA (the Institute Of Contemporary Arts) will hold an exhibition based on 1980s Ibiza towards the end of the year.
Ibiza: Moments In Love, due to run November 27 to January 26, 2014, is a free exhibition built upon a rich accumulation of original photographs, book excerpts, club posters and flyers and music. Curated by IDEA Books, with the support of 2manydjs and Wild Life Archive, Moments Of Love aims to vividly convey Ibiza’s crucial transition from historic hippie enclave to contemporary club frontier during the 1980s.
Established Balearic DJs Phil Mison and Paul Byrne offer musical supervision. The exhibition also showcases visual artists Yves Uro, key illustrator and graphic artist of hundreds of posters for Ku (now Privilege), and Armin Heinemann, owner of cult White Isle fashion boutique and creative hub Paula’s Ibiza; not to mention showcasing previously unpublished photographs of Ku taken by British snapper Derek Ridgers in 1984.
There is no word, as yet, on any private view and launch party event.
