2013 marks the 7th year of Igloofest, Canada’s annual Winter outdoor electronic music festival. Co produced by Piknic Electronik and the Quays of the old port, Montreal’s answer to Snowbombing now pulls in tens of thousands every year in sub-zero conditions to enjoy some of the hottest electronic music acts around.
Due to its fast growing popularity Igloofest have just announced an additional fourth weekend to the program offering even more opportunity to dance to some of the world’s top acts under the starry skies of Montreal’s coldest nights. Over 4 weekends in January and February some 40 artists will be gracing the Sapporo stage including including Magda, Audiofly, Joy Orbison, Heidi, Josh Winksm DJ Sneak and Sasha to name but a few.
The visual and interactive elements of the igloo village are also set to be bigger and better than ever as the as they combine classic projectors and tungsten lights, giant flatscreens, LED technology and interactive installations in an effort to transform the dance floor and igloo village into an otherworldly audio-visual and spatial experience.
