Think you know what a Copyright record sounds like? Think again…

Dropping this week on Defected, ‘I’m All Yours’ marks a notable departure from Copyright’s normal style. The deep, dark, techy production is like nothing the duo have produced to date and looks set to be a stone-cold future anthem for house and techno dancefloors alike. But that’s not to say they’ve completely turned their back on the soulful feeling that permeates much of their previous work. As you’d expect from a Copyright track there’s a strong vocal element, but even this marks a significant break from the norm.

Copyright featuring Nuwella Love - I'm All Yours by Defected Records

Providing the venomous bite on ‘I’m All Yours’ is Nuwella Love; a larger-than-life party spirit with a penchant for dancing aloft perilous speaker-stacks and delivering some of the most infectious vocals ever heard on a house beat. Best of friends with The Noisettes Shingai Shoniwa and in without doubt in possession of the elusive 'star quality' that stands her apart from so many of her peers, her introduction to Copyright was during one of the most memorable parties of Defected's 2010 Ibiza season.

“Last year at arguably the best party of the season at Pacha we were playing with Simon and he was absolutely smashing it.” explains Copyright’s Sam Holt. “I looked round and into the DJ booth jumped Shingai from Noisettes and ‘Hey Hey’ and another girl I didn’t recognise. We were introduced to her friend Nuwella and had some drinks in the booth whilst ‘Hey Hey’ rocked the main room. The guys hung out  for  the whole of Simon’s set and added to the party vibe, busting out some seriously amazing dance moves (on the speakers!) and generally adding to the good vibes of the night.

“After Simon’s storming set the DJ booth was jam-packed with people and just on the spur of the moment, Nuwella started singing to Gavin and Simon. Simon immediately turned round to me and said “you guys should do something!” I stuck Nuwella’s email in my phone, and the rest as they say is history.

“We’ve been working together over the last few weeks on new material and this is the first single. It’s something we are very excited about releasing and can’t wait for people to hear. She’s a unique talent and we love working with her. The best party of last year just got even better!”

It seems fitting that a collaboration born behind the hallowed decks of Pacha has produced a record that will no doubt be one of the summer’s biggest anthems of the forthcoming season. Don’t believe us? Well get yourselves over to Pacha in the next couple of months and see for yourselves!
