Cocoon king Sven Vath will headline the Grand Finale of this year’s International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza.
The event, taking place May 24, returns to UNESCO World Heritage site Dalt Vila in Ibiza Town. Vath will be joined by Defected favourites Tensnake (playing live) and Solomun, not to mention Maya Jane Coles, Scuba, and Belfast’s major ones-to-watch Le Carousel. The latter, founded by Soma and Bugged Out boy Phil Kieren, are already being hyped by Andrew Weatherall and Carl Craig.
Now in its sixth year, the International Music Summit (May 22-24) has quickly become one of clubland’s key business, network and idea forums, featuring talks, seminars and workshops with relevant industry figures alongside a series of unique parties, performances and showcases.
IMS co-founder Ben Turner – his partners include Pete Tong – comments: “Friday at Dalt Vila has become one of the highlights of the Ibiza season, and we are delighted with this year's line-up. It's hard to top Carl Cox and Loco Dice from last year, but we have two of Ibiza's hottest names of the moment in Solomun and Maya Jane Coles, but also the man who created the foundation for underground music in Ibiza – Sven Väth. Without his pioneering work with Cocoon, this huge underground movement, which now rules Ibiza, would never have happened. So time to celebrate this moment.”
