Music and beer and love and air… that’s pretty much all Lars von Licht is interested in. And when you’re making records as beautiful as he is, why waste your time with anything else?
A man of few words (as evidenced by our brief chat below), Lars prefers to let his productions do the talking, and with forthcoming EP on Tenth Circle as well as releases on his own Sleeves imprint, it looks like we'll be hearing plenty of analogue chatter in the weeks and months to come.
Here he mixes an hour of emotive techno and vocal-scattered house for the latest in the In Their House series.
How are you doing today?
I´m fine thank you.
What have you been up to recently?
With a friend of mine I´m running my own label, it is called Sleeves, some new releases comin soon on it. I've been finishing some own tracks and I´m doing the booking for a weekly event in Berlin; a Tuesday party called Dienstagswelt. I´m very busy at the moment.
How and where was the mix recorded?
Usually I play with vinyl only, but this is mixed in my studio with Ableton.
Any particular tracks on there you'd like to highlight?
I really like the all the stuff from the fiakun guys and the track by Kris Wadsworth here remixed by the Berlin guy Sven Weisemann. Should also mention my own track coming soon on Tenth Circle.
What have you got planned for the rest of the year?
I hope to have enough time for my son and obviously continue with developing my music; it’s a balancing act as any parent will know.
