To celebrate our 11th consecutive year in Ibiza, each week we’ll be bringing you a quick-fire interview with the artists playing at one of our two parties this season.
Here, Copyright's Sam Holt takes a well deserved break from touring and hosting the Defected In The House Radio Show to answer our Ibiza-related questions.
What was the first party you went to in Ibiza?
Space Terrace, 1994.
Where do you go to relax on the island?
Pura Vida beach and restaurant in Santa Eularia. It’s hidden away and is a great place to recover!
Who would you most like to play a back to back set with?
GERD! Everything he makes WE LOVE!
Have you ever missed a flight because you partied too hard the night before?
Never.
Which record is going to be the one that everyone’s talking about this year?
Paul Woolford ‘Untitled’ or our mate Dennis Ferrer’s ‘Mind Ur Step’.
Who’s an underrated artist we should all be listening to?
Route 94 is one to watch!
What was the record that got you into dance music?
A Guy Called Gerald’s ‘Voodoo Ray’. Still sounds like it was made in the future today.
When you’re not DJing where do you go to party?
Hawksmoor London for steak, then 49 Colebrooke Row for cocktails. BOOM.
How do you tend to relax when you’re not playing or making records?
I go fishing. Gavin takes photos!
What’s your favourite Defected record?
Simple answer; Kings of Tomorrow ‘Finally’.
Finally, tell us something about yourself that not many people know…
After 12 years of interviews there’s nothing left!!!
