This week it's the turn of Franky Rizardo - whose beat-heavy productions and rhythm-focussed sets have drawn comparisons with French legend DJ Gregory in recent years - to take on our quick-fire, Ibiza-related questions.
What was the first party you went to in Ibiza?
The first party for me in Ibiza was F**k Me I’m Famous in Pacha: I was invited by Ace Agency to celebrate Afrojack’s birthday party.!
Where do you go to relax on the island?
I haven’t seen as much of the island as i would like, but one of the places I’ve been that i really found relaxing was Benirras beach; especially on Sundays when a large number of people show up with their drums and start a jam-session at sunset.
Who would you most like to play a back to back set with?
Too many to mention! Let’s go for Luciano. I’d like to join the flow in his sets.
Have you ever missed a flight because you partied too hard the night before?
No, I haven’t! *knocks on wood* I love to party but I think it’s vital to be on time for the flight. I hate being late. I do however get into the plane with a massive hangover (more often then I’d like) which always gets worse once you’re in the air.
Which record is going to be the one that everyone’s talking about this year?
I think Breach - Jack has been one of the biggest records this year.
Who’s an underrated artist we should all be listening to?
I think Pitto should receive some more attention for his awesome track ‘You’.
What was the record that got you into dance music?
Daft Punk’s Homework album.
When you’re not DJing where do you go to party?
I love to get lost at different parties at all the clubs in Ibiza, but it really depends on my mood and who I’d like to see. In Holland I like to visit Chicago Social Club, Studio 80, AIR and beachclub Bloomingdale.
How do you tend to relax when you’re not playing or making records?
Hanging out with friends is my No.1 relaxing pastime.
What’s your favourite Defected record?
Kings of Tomorrow ‘Finally’.
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know…
I don’t really like Pasta, or mozzarella cheese.
