Items & Things, the experimental label set up by Minus mainstays Magda, Marc Houle and Troy Pierce in 2006, is about to release a vinyl box set featuring 15 exclusive new tracks.
Items’ activity has accelerated since the departure of Magda and co. from Minus last year. The techno trio left to spend more time on their own imprint, which has run with an open-minded agenda covering everything from dark minimal to weird, offbeat atmospheric.
New box set Variables, released July 13, includes cuts from Magda, Houle and Pierce, fellow scene lynchpin Jimmy Edgar and newcomers like Madato and Danny Benedettini. The package is then released digitally, with the tracks also mixed by Magda, on July 27.
