Electronic singer-songwriter James Blake has announced details of a follow-up album to last year’s acclaimed eponymous debut, as well a series of supporting tour dates.

New album Overgrown is still shrouded in mystery but initial press information indicates a body of work which sees Black ‘returning to the brain melting electronic perfection of...early releases on Hemlock and Hessle, moving way beyond any post-dubstep pigeonholes to include stunning reinterpretations of both hip-hop and house’.

Overgrown is released by Polydor on April 8, preceded by single Retrograde, out this week.  Blake announced a one-off show last Thursday for London’s ICA on February 26 – it has already sold out.  Subsequently a mini UK tour has been confirmed, spanning April 9 (Heaven, London), April 10 (Academy 2, Manchester) and April 11 (The Arches Glasgow).  Tickets go on general sale from tomorrow.
